Important Conference Dates for Your Calendar

Friday, April 17, 2015

We’re all time-poor when we run our own businesses, so selecting a good conference to go to is important. Here are two small business conferences coming up soon that ICA believes would be worth attending:

Family Business Australia: 8 May, Melbourne

FBA are practical folk who focus on family business issues, such as succession planning, family relationships within your business and more. If you have a family business, the FBA one-day conference is worth considering. More info on our website here.

The Small Enterprise Australasia group (SEAANZ) 1–3 July, Melbourne

SEAANZ is a group that pulls together academics, government and practitioners in the small business space. Its July conference is shaping up as a humdinger:

  • Wednesday 1 July: Indigenous (Aboriginal and Maori) business people and leaders.
  • Thursday 2 July: Breakfast Australian & NZ small business ministers. Workshops on small business recovery, management and finance. Lunch with NAB chief economist Alan Oster. Australian regulators ‘selling’ their wares. TRiPLe8FuNK dance group performance and discussion on small business and the arts. Melbourne Monash Uni Young Entrepreneurs clubs discussing being an entrepreneur, and more.
  • Friday 3 July: Academic papers with a practical twist. Lots of variety.

Preliminary information here, with full details out soon.
